How to Build a Matchy Set: Saddle Pad and Ear Bonnet
How to put together a saddle pad and ear bonnet that actually belong together: choosing velvet or nylon first, matching colour to your horse's coat, getting the cut and the...
Designed by a professional show jumper — fit, fabric and finish decided in the saddle, not on a spec sheet.
Everything about this pad starts with the dressage cut. “Bond” carries the longer drop and squarer outline that a dressage saddle calls for, so the pad frames the flap in clean, straight lines rather than vanishing beneath it.
The deep blue nylon gives the discipline’s formality a little colour without breaking its rules, and black binding traces the perimeter to sharpen the silhouette. A dark embroidered logo sits quietly toward the rear corner.
As a nylon dressage saddle pad it earns its keep in work, not just in looks: the contoured spine line follows the back to spread pressure evenly, quilted channels hold the filling where it belongs, and the breathable weave keeps the horse comfortable through an hour of transitions and lateral movements. A discipline-specific pad that takes the test as seriously as you do.
